The Objective
Your mission is simple: hit the ball from start to goal in as few strokes as possible. Conquer 9 holes to complete a full course and challenge yourself to beat Par!
The Playing Field
Maximum shot distance for powerful strokes.
(5 fields, all directions)
Shorter strokes from rough terrain.
(3 fields, all directions)
Minimal shot distance from sand.
(1 field, only diagonally)
The final putting area around the goal.
(1 field, only orthogonally)
The ball rolls off to the next field, as indicated by its arrow.
Not allowed to land on, but can be overshot.
Not allowed to land on, cannot be overshot.
How to Play
All possible targets are highlighted based on the ball’s position. Select the target cell where you want your ball to go.
The selected target will show with an orange outline. Tap on it again if you want to change your selection.
After selecting a target cell, tap on the ball to strike it.
Repeat these steps until your ball lands on the cell marked with the flag. Look at the table under the grid to see your current score.
Game Modes
Daily Challenge: Every day, all players receive the same course. A brand-new course is available each day—compete to beat yesterday's score!
Freeplay Mode: Enjoy unlimited courses! Play as many unique courses as you like and experiment with different strategies.
Additional Tips
- Plan ahead by studying the grid and anticipating how obstacles might affect your shot. Remember: Your shot distance depends on the surface your ball is on — fairway, rough, and sand all influence how far you can hit.
- Diagonal strokes are shorter. For distance try to hit vertically.
- Use slopes to align with the goal. You can only putt horizontally or vertically on the Green.
- Under the Log menu you can view your full course history. Continue courses you have already started from here.
- After completing a course, you can share your result. The text will be copied to the clipboard to share on social media.
- Each course is uniquely generated based on a random number (the so called "seed"). Each player that plays that seed will get the exact same course. You can play each course only once!
- Play Daily Challenges multiple days in a row to get a higher Streak (see Stats).
- By clearing your browser data all progress will be lost. You can export your game from the Stats menu before deleting your data.
- Install Griddle Golf as a web app by opening your browser's menu and selecting 'Add to Home Screen' for a native-like experience.
